php - How to allow "read more" tag when using custom excerpts no wordpress -


i trying figure out how have wordpresss automatically add read more tag when i'm using custom excerpt on wordpress posts. want use custom excerpts since allows html (links, bold, etc) display on home page of blog.

thanks in advance help, , please let me know if you'd me post code existing theme.

one potential solution use "more" quick tag.

you type <!--more--> @ point in post you'd post truncated. on pages multiple posts displayed (such blog page), show content point, insert "read more" link automatically.
