foursquare event api cant get the global intent to work -

hi cant global intent work me

i trying use intent=global, says other parameters ignored:

"global finds globally relevant venues search, independent of location. ignores other parameters other query , limit."

so thought, ok i'll add near satisfy api , global intent ignore it. doesn't ignore near. here's parameters trying:

v=20130618&limit=1&intent=global&query='beirut%20hilton' fails "must provide parameters (ll , radius) or (sw , ne) or (near , radius)"

v=20130618&limit=1&near='harpenden'&intent=global&query='beirut%20hilton'

and of course finds after:

v=20130618&limit=1&near='harpenden'&intent=global&query='beirut%20hilton'

when add near of somewhere ion uk, returning uk based results - not intent!

what doing wrong? thanks.

if looking venues in specific region, not provide intent=global. intent=global , near= not compatible.
